FORMAL BOARD MEETING CALLED TO ORDER AT 6:22 PM BY PRESIDENT, Meg Rapheal

 

Meg made a motion to approve the September meeting minutes with the following change:

  • “Jack is still working with the CPA to finalize the IRS filings for form 990.”
  • Sue seconded and they were approved by all.

 

Jack Jungbauer - Treasurer’s Report

 

  • The bank balance as of 9/30/23 is $52,524. Actual balance with a $3918 outstanding item is $48,606.
  • The NIRP fund reserve remains at $50,000.
  • $125k invested in short term-higher yield options: $50k in 13-month CD to 12/12/23. $25k in 7-month CD to 11/19/23. $50k in 13-month CD until 5/19/24.
  • Payments included: Graffic Traffic, Carole Moore, and Ryan Lake (outstanding).
  • Jack is still working to finalize the IRS filings and the classification of BEAA.
  • IRS sent a letter asking for 60 additional days to review the tax return and classification of BEAA.
  • Jack discussed the information for his slides at the annual meeting. He will include the P&L numbers and shoreline restoration information. Jack will share the completed slides with Meg before the annual meeting.
  • Carole did not report on dues and donations at the meeting, but the numbers are included below for the  record:
    • $29,625 has been received in dues. 46% of homeowners have paid.
    • YTD $1175 has been received in general donations and $1110 was donated specifically for Music on the Lake.

 

Meg Rapheal – President’s Report

  • Meg reported that Katie Philippi will shadow Carole over the next year and replace her as Secretary and Brad Mason will fill the Member at Large spot. Doug will meet with Brad on 10/10/23 to discuss the position.
  • Meg will bring the agendas to the annual meeting.
  • Zebra mussels were found on a dock on Hugo Road and Kathy Fleming was contacted.

 


 

Doug Mulder - Vice President Report

  • Tonight is Doug’s last meeting ☹! Doug is willing to help out if needed in the future. Thank You Doug for all of your work over the years!
  • Joe and Meg will reach out to the dock associations and organizations on the lake.
  • Laura will take over the Graffic Traffic ordering.

 

Music on the Lake – Jenn and Laura

  • Jenn reported that Thank You notes were sent out to the hosts and band.
  • The band, Free and Easy, is all set for next year’s event on Saturday, July 6th.

 

Annual Dinner Report – Deb and Sue

  • The Annual Dinner is set for Thursday, April 25th and the deposit has been made.

 

Annual Meeting

  • Thursday, October 19th at 7:00 p.m.
  • Board should come at 6:00 p.m.
  • Jenn and Laura will sell MOTL t-shirts for $10.
  • Sue will look for the board name tags in the dinner bins.
  • Sue and Deb volunteered to help with check-in.

 

Sue made a motion to adjourn the meeting at 7:06 p.m. Deb seconded and all approved.
